More and more people travel to undergo weight loss surgery. The reasons vary, but usually include cost, opportunities to visit family or friends (who can help them recover from surgery), the desire to stick with a particular surgeon or program, or simply to combine a medical treatment with a vacation.
We care for many patients traveling long distances. The initial consultation and necessary pre-operative evaluations can usually be performed in 48 hours in special circumstances and usually the surgery can be scheduled shortly after that. Ideally, you should plan on staying at least one additional day after the day of surgery. Our office will be happy to assist you with hotel and transportation accommodations as well. We are available to you every business day from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm PST.
